ActiveRevenue pubfeeds, bid on with your own conversion data

ClickFlare's ActiveRevenue template captures the click ID plus publisher feed, banner, sub-source, query, carrier, keyword, campaign, state and IP on every click. Conversions go back to xml.activerevenue.com by S2S postback with their value, and can target a specific goal ID per event.

Bid ActiveRevenue feeds up or down on real results

Feed and sub-source reports

pubfeed and source_subid together show which publishers and sub-sources convert, so you can exclude or bid up sources in ActiveRevenue.

Each event to its own goal

Add &id= with a goal ID to each postback. Registration and purchase land on separate ActiveRevenue goals, each tied to a ClickFlare custom conversion.

Target CPA on real values

The postback sends value={payout}. ActiveRevenue's Target CPA bidding and CPA billing work from the conversions you send.

ActiveRevenue's click ID, returned as c

ActiveRevenue fills {conversion} into the campaign URL. ClickFlare stores it as the External ID. On conversion, it calls xml.activerevenue.com/conversion with the ID in c, count=1 and the payout in value.
  • conversion in the URL, c in the postback
  • No id means the campaign's first goal
  • Switch the template's http:// to https://

Connected in four steps

You need an ActiveRevenue account with a campaign goal, a ClickFlare account with your own tracking domain, and an offer.
  1. Add the ActiveRevenue traffic source In the campaign editor, click + New Traffic Source and pick the ActiveRevenue template. It maps {conversion} to the External ID and fills nine tracking fields.
  2. Turn on the postback Turn on Traffic source postback URL and change http:// to https://. Keep c={external_id}. Map it to Conversions or your final custom conversion.
  3. Finish the campaign Pick the Cost Model that matches how you buy: CPC with your bid, CPC with CPM divided by 1,000, or CPA. Add lander and offer and copy the campaign URL.
  4. Create the campaign in ActiveRevenue Choose CPC, CPM or CPA, the format and targeting. Paste the ClickFlare campaign URL into Destination URL and make sure the campaign has at least one goal.

ActiveRevenue's help center describes a generic postback with clickid. The xml.activerevenue.com/conversion endpoint reads the click ID from c, so don't rename it.

Use cases

How media buyers run it

Popunder → offer on CPM

Buy ActiveRevenue popunders on CPM, set CPC to the bid divided by 1,000, and exclude pubfeeds whose sub-sources never convert.

Push → lander → offer

Send lead and purchase to separate goal IDs so ActiveRevenue reports both steps and Target CPA bids on the one you choose.

Telegram and native tests

Run Telegram or native ads, compare banners and carriers in ClickFlare, and keep the creatives that convert after cost.
