ExoClick traffic, trackedzone by zone to the payout

ClickFlare reads ExoClick's click ID, actual cost and 10 tracking macros from the campaign URL. When a conversion arrives, ClickFlare posts it to your ExoClick Conversion Goal with the payout, so both platforms show the same conversions per zone and site.

Find the ExoClick zones that pay for themselves

Zone and site in every report

The template passes {zone_id} and {site_id} on each click. Group by them to see which zones convert, then block or bid them up in ExoClick.

Cost recorded per visit

The template sends {actual_cost}, the CPM or CPC ExoClick actually charged. Set the Cost Model to Not Tracked and ROI uses that figure.

Revenue in ExoClick's columns

Add &value={payout} to a Dynamic goal and ExoClick fills its Revenue, Profit and ROI columns. Its conversion-rate distribution then has data to use.

One click ID in, one goal postback out

ExoClick fills {conversions_tracking} in the tag parameter. ClickFlare stores it as the External ID. When your offer converts, ClickFlare calls your goal's postback on s.magsrv.com with that ID and the payout.
  • tag carries a click ID of 150 to 700 characters
  • Each Conversion Goal has its own Goal ID
  • ExoClick answers OK or a plain-text error

Connected in four steps

You need an ExoClick account, a ClickFlare offer whose network posts conversions back, and your own tracking domain.
  1. Create the ExoClick traffic source In a new campaign, open Traffic Source, click + New Traffic Source and pick the ExoClick template. It fills the click ID, cost and 10 tracking macros for you.
  2. Create a Conversion Goal in ExoClick Under Campaigns → Conversion Tracking, create a goal. Pick Dynamic as the Conversion Value, choose Conversion Tracking API - S2S and copy the 32-character Goal ID.
  3. Fix up the postback Turn on Traffic source postback URL. Put your Goal ID in place of REPLACE, change main.exoclick.com to s.magsrv.com and add &value={payout} for a Dynamic goal.
  4. Launch and test the variation Set Cost Model to Not Tracked, copy the campaign URL and paste it as a Single Landing Page variation. Use Test Variation, then check Logs → Postback Status for OK.

On CPM campaigns {actual_cost} is the cost of one impression. For banners and native, compare the Cost column with ExoClick spend and switch to CPC if they differ.

Use cases

How media buyers run it

ExoClick popunder → offer

Popunder straight to offer

One impression is roughly one visit, so actual cost stays close. Cut zones whose ROI stays negative.
Native → lander → offer

Lead and sale as two goals

Send the lead and the sale to separate ExoClick goals so each shows its own conversions column.
Banner → lander → offer

Keyword-targeted banners

The keyword and tags macros show which matched terms convert, so you can refine targeting in ExoClick.
