MediaGo conversions, typed, with cost synced hourly

The MediaGo template passes the tracking ID, CPC, ad, asset and site macros. ClickFlare posts each conversion to sync.mediago.io with its payout, conversion type and total-count flag, and the cost integration pulls spend from MediaGo's API every hour.

Tell MediaGo which conversion counts

Only the final step counts

Send intermediate steps with includeintotalconversion=0 and the final one with 1, so MediaGo's Conversions column isn't inflated.

Placements and assets in view

SITE_ID and PUBLISHER_NAME show which placements convert. AD_ID and ASSET_ID show which creatives work.

Cost from click one, exact hourly

The CPC macro gives cost per click as soon as traffic starts. The cost integration then pulls exact spend from MediaGo's API every hour.

Conversion type, payout and the total flag

MediaGo labels each conversion with a numeric type, such as 8 for Purchase or 10 for Lead, and a flag that decides whether it counts in the main total. ClickFlare sends both with the tracking ID, ad ID and payout.
  • One postback per conversion type
  • accountname helps MediaGo support trace requests

Setup

Connected in four steps

You need a MediaGo account, your MediaGo account name, an API token from your MediaGo account manager, and a ClickFlare account with your own tracking domain.
  1. Add the MediaGo traffic source In the campaign editor, add a traffic source from the MediaGo template and turn on Traffic source postback URL. Replace the three REPLACE values: conversion type, total flag and account name.
  2. Set cost and copy the URL Set the campaign Cost Model to Not Tracked, so ClickFlare uses the CPC MediaGo passes. Save and copy the campaign URL.
  3. Split the URL in MediaGo Paste the part before the ? into Landing page URL. Paste the part after it into the Tracking field on the Create Ad Set page. That field can't contain ?, @, #, / or spaces.
  4. Sync hourly cost Add the MediaGo cost integration with your API token and a timezone that matches your account, then select it on the traffic source.

Use cases

How media buyers run it

MediaGo → lander → offer

Send Lead as type 10 with flag 0 and Purchase as type 8 with flag 1, so MediaGo optimizes on sales.

MediaGo → article → RSOC

Feed revenue arrives hours or days later. Pass it to MediaGo with a delayed revenue postback.

Asset testing

Compare ROI by ASSET_ID, one unique mix of URL, image and title, and keep the combinations that convert.
