NewsBreak conversions,ready to optimize on

The NewsBreak template captures the click ID plus campaign, flight and creative macros. ClickFlare posts each conversion to NewsBreak with its value and event_type, and the cost integration syncs spend across all campaign levels with your NewsBreak API token.

Get NewsBreak optimizing on your real conversions

Events activated the right way

NewsBreak's test only opens your URL. Map the postback to Visits for the test, then back to your real event, and the event becomes an optimization goal.

Flights and creatives in reports

Campaign, flight and creative IDs and names land in tracking fields, so you can pause losing creatives and scale winners.

Value NewsBreak can use

nb_value carries the payout with each conversion, so NewsBreak records revenue against the web event.

One web event, one postback, one event_type

NewsBreak records postback conversions against web events. You create one per conversion with ClickFlare as the tracker, copy its event_type into the template's postback, and ClickFlare sends the click ID back in callback.
  • Event value turned on in NewsBreak
  • Visits mapping only for the event test
  • Several events, one postback each

Setup

Connected in five steps

You need a NewsBreak Ads account with access to Tools → Event Management, a NewsBreak API token for cost, and a ClickFlare account with your own tracking domain.
  1. Create the web event In NewsBreak, open Tools → Event Management → Web Events and click Create/Test Web Event. Choose Postback, pick ClickFlare as the tracker, select the event, turn on Event value and copy the postback URL.
  2. Add the NewsBreak traffic source In the campaign editor, add a traffic source from the NewsBreak template. Turn on Traffic source postback URL and replace REPLACE with the event_type from NewsBreak's URL.
  3. Pass NewsBreak's postback test Map the postback to Visits, paste the campaign URL into Test Postback integration and click Go test. Once it shows Success, map the postback back to Conversions or your custom event.
  4. Launch in NewsBreak Create the NewsBreak campaign and paste the ClickFlare campaign URL into Landing Page URL, unchanged.
  5. Sync NewsBreak cost Add the NewsBreak cost integration with the token from Tools → Advertising API → Token and a matching timezone. Assign it to the traffic source and set Cost Model to Not Tracked.

Use cases

How media buyers run it

NewsBreak → lander → offer

Activate a Complete Payment web event with the Visits test, then send real sales with their value.

NewsBreak → article → RSOC

Feed revenue lands hours or days after the click. Send it to NewsBreak with a delayed revenue postback.

Lead, then purchase

Create a web event per step, give each its own postback and event_type, and activate each one before optimizing on it.
