TrafficFactory goals,filled with real conversions

ClickFlare reads TrafficFactory's {conversions_tracking} click ID, actual cost and 10 tokens, including zone and site, from the campaign URL. You add a postback per conversion goal, and ClickFlare sends each conversion with its value, so TrafficFactory's G1, G2 columns match your reports.

Run TrafficFactory zones on goal-level data

Zone ID for blacklists and bids

{zone_id} is the main row for blacklists and bid changes. Group by it, along with site and hostname, to see which placements convert.

One goal per funnel step

Each conversion goal has its own goal ID and shows as G1, G2, G3 in TrafficFactory Statistics, with eCPA per goal once you turn the columns on.

Value for smart bidding

Set a goal's Conversion Value to Dynamic and add &value={payout}. TrafficFactory's smart bidding gets the real revenue of each conversion.

tag in from the click, tag back to the goal

TrafficFactory fills {conversions_tracking} in tag and ClickFlare stores it as the External ID. On conversion, ClickFlare calls the goal's tag.php URL with {external_id} in tag and the payout in value.
  • Goal IDs are 32 characters, a–f and digits
  • Keep the conversion domain TrafficFactory shows
  • Responses read OK or a plain-text error

Connected in four steps

You need a TrafficFactory account with a conversion goal, a ClickFlare offer that posts conversions back, and your own tracking domain.
  1. Create the TrafficFactory traffic source In a new campaign, click + New Traffic Source and pick the TrafficFactory template. It fills tag={conversions_tracking}, cost and 10 tracking tokens.
  2. Create a conversion goal In TrafficFactory, go to Campaigns → Conversion Tracking → NEW CONVERSION GOAL. Pick a type, set Conversion Value to Dynamic, choose Conversion Tracking API - S2S and copy the URL.
  3. Build the postback by hand Turn on Traffic source postback URL and paste the goal URL. Swap {conversions_tracking} for {external_id} and add &value={payout}. Keep TrafficFactory's conversion domain.
  4. Launch and check responses Set Cost Model to Not Tracked and paste the campaign URL as the ad's destination. After a real conversion, check Logs → Postback Status for OK and the goal column in Statistics.

Use cases

How media buyers run it

TrafficFactory → lander → offer

Signup and sale as G1 and G2

Send the signup to goal order 1 and the sale to order 2, and compare eCPA per goal in Statistics.
TrafficFactory banner → offer on CPC

Zone blacklists on CPC

Group by zone_id in ClickFlare and blacklist zones that spend without converting.
TrafficFactory → trial offer

Late-converting trials

Set the goal's Conversion Window to 7 or 30 days so conversions that arrive later still count.
