TrafficStars ad spots, ranked by real revenue

The TrafficStars template captures the click ID, the amount paid for each click and 10 details such as site, ad spot, format and carrier. ClickFlare posts each conversion to tsyndicate.com with your revenue in the value parameter, so TrafficStars' optimization and your reports agree.

Block TrafficStars spots that don't pay

Site and spot breakdowns

site_id and adspot_id land in their own columns, so you see which sites and spots convert and can block or bid them up in TrafficStars.

Cost as actually paid

The {cost} macro carries the amount actually paid on CPC, CPA and popunder DCPM, so ClickFlare's ROI reflects real spend.

Several conversions per click

Add lead_code={txid} to the postback and each repeat deposit reaches TrafficStars with its own code, not just the first one.

How the click ID travels to TrafficStars and back

TrafficStars opens your campaign URL with its click ID in externalid and the price paid in cost. ClickFlare stores the click ID as the External ID. On conversion, ClickFlare puts it in the URL path after /action/ and sends the payout as value.
  • Only your TrafficStars key needs replacing
  • One postback per goal, same key for every goal
  • S2S test page shows OK when it works

Setup

Connected in four steps

You need a TrafficStars advertiser account and its postback key, your own tracking domain and an offer in ClickFlare.
  1. Add the TrafficStars traffic source In the campaign editor, click + New Traffic Source and pick the TrafficStars template. It fills in the click ID, cost and 10 tracking macros.
  2. Add your key to the postback In TrafficStars Tracking Tools, generate a postback for a custom tracking service and copy the value after key=. In ClickFlare, turn on the postback and replace REPLACE with it.
  3. Copy the campaign URL Set the cost model to Not Tracked so ClickFlare uses the cost TrafficStars passes. Add your offer, save and copy the campaign URL from your own domain.
  4. Launch and run the S2S test Paste the URL as the ad's URL in TrafficStars. Open the S2S test page, complete the offer and click Check Status until it shows OK.

Use cases

How media buyers run it

TrafficStars popunder on DCPM → offer

Popunder to offer

Cost arrives per click, so ROI by site and spot is ready without a cost upload.
Push or native → offer that pays per deposit

Repeat deposit offers

Add lead_code={txid} so every deposit counts, not only the first.

CPA campaigns with real margin

Send the full payout and set TrafficStars' Payout modifier, so ROI in TrafficStars matches your real margin.
