Yandex Direct clicks, matched back through Metrica

The Yandex template captures yclid as the External ID, plus the campaign name, keyword, placement and position. Yandex has no postback URL, so conversions reach Yandex Direct through Metrica: an offline upload matched on yclid, or the Metrica tag on pages you control.

Yandex bidding that learns from your real results

Works with affiliate offers

The offline upload matches on yclid, so conversions on sites you don't control still reach Metrica and Yandex Direct's bidding.

Keyword and position data

On search, keyword and position show which queries pay. On the Advertising Network, source shows which partner sites convert.

Payout in Metrica reports

Add Price and Currency to the upload file, and Metrica stores the payout as the goal's value per campaign.

From yclid to a Metrica goal

Yandex opens your campaign URL with yclid and its ad details. ClickFlare stores yclid as the External ID. You export converting yclids from ClickFlare and upload them to a Metrica JavaScript event goal, which Yandex Direct optimizes on.
  • Pass yclid={external_id} to your lander
  • Upload file columns: Yclid, Target, DateTime
  • One Metrica goal per event

Connected in four steps

You need a Yandex Direct account, a Yandex Metrica tag linked to your campaigns, your own tracking domain and an offer in ClickFlare.
  1. Add the Yandex traffic source In the campaign editor, click + New Traffic Source and pick the Yandex template. Set cost currency to your Yandex Direct billing currency. Leave the postback off.
  2. Keep yclid on your lander Add yclid={external_id} to your lander URL in ClickFlare, so the Metrica tag there sees the same click ID. With Direct tracking, yclid is already in the URL.
  3. Finish the campaign and paste the URL Set a CPC cost model with your average CPC. Copy the campaign URL, paste it into each ad's link in Yandex Direct and pick your Metrica goal as the conversion goal.
  4. Upload conversions to Metrica Create a JavaScript event goal. Export conversions with their External ID, build a CSV with Yclid, Target and DateTime, and upload it in Metrica under Settings → Upload data.
