Mobipium and ClickFlare Integration Mobipium is a mobile CPA network focused on mVAS: mobile content paid through carrier billing, plus dating. Many of its offers are in-house or exclusive. It pays on CPA, CPL, CPS and revenue share, and runs on its own platform. You work in the affiliate panel at affiliates.mobipium.com, and your tracking links run on Mobipium’s link domains, such as mobipiumlink.com. To track Mobipium offers in ClickFlare, two links have to carry the ClickFlare click ID in both directions:
  • The offer URL sends the ClickFlare click ID to Mobipium in a parameter you name yourself. This guide uses tid.
  • The postback URL sends it back to ClickFlare with every conversion, together with the payout. Mobipium calls it the callback URL, and you set it once for your whole account in Pixel.
This guide covers the setup, how the three Pixel fields work together, what to do about a transaction ID, and how to check that it all works.
Only need the two values? The Click ID & postback macros page has them ready to copy with your tracking domain.

How the data flows

The two links mirror each other:
Offer URL = their parameter + your token. Postback URL = your parameter + their placeholder. Mobipium has no fixed sub ID parameter. You tell it which parameter carries your click ID in Pixel, and it returns that value as {tid}. The name in Pixel must match the parameter in the offer URL.

What you’ll need

  • An active ClickFlare account with your own tracking domain set up. Shared domains get flagged by networks and blocked by browsers. See Tracking domains.
  • A Mobipium affiliate account. Some offers show REQUEST APPROVAL instead of SETUP CAMPAIGN. Mobipium’s sales team reviews those before you get a link.
  • Access to the Pixel view in the Mobipium panel. It holds your callback URL for every campaign.

What the Mobipium template contains

ClickFlare has a Mobipium affiliate network template. It fills in the Mobipium placeholders ClickFlare needs. The Mobipium template in ClickFlare: Click Id is {tid}, Payout is {pay} and Transaction ID is empty Mobipium refers to “standard placeholders” but publishes no full list. {tid} and {pay} are the two that tracker integrations agree on.

Setup

Everything in ClickFlare is done from inside the campaign editor. Create the offer and the affiliate network inline as you go.
1

Set up your own tracking domain

Add a custom tracking domain before anything else, for example trk.yourdomain.com. The postback URL is built on this domain, so changing it later means updating the callback URL in Mobipium too. See Tracking domains.
2

Report conversions by postback time

Go to Settings → General Settings and set Conversion registration time reporting to Postback Timestamp. With the default Visit Timestamp, ClickFlare reports a conversion on the day of the original click. A conversion that comes in later then lands on a different date than in Mobipium’s stats. See Conversion registration time.
This is an account-wide setting. It changes the date conversions are reported on for every campaign. Mobipium’s own stats are in GMT+1, so expect small day-boundary differences anyway.
3

Create the campaign

Go to Campaigns → New Campaign, choose Redirect tracking, pick your traffic source and select your tracking domain. See Creating a campaign.
4

Create the Mobipium affiliate network

While creating the offer for the campaign, create a new affiliate network in its Affiliate Network field. You can also create it first under Affiliate Networks → + New. Either way:
  1. Search for Mobipium and pick the Mobipium template.
  2. Keep the name, or add your account to it if you run more than one.
  3. Check the parameters: Click Id {tid}, Payout {pay}.
  4. Leave Transaction ID and Event Type empty.
  5. Under Conversion tracking, select your own Tracking Domain and keep S2S Postback URL as the tracking method.
  6. Set Payout currency to the currency Mobipium pays you in. Mobipium’s payment thresholds are in US dollars, but check the currency of your offers’ payouts in the panel.
ClickFlare builds the postback URL from these fields:

5

Get the offer's tracking link from Mobipium

In the Mobipium panel, go to Market. Filter the offers, or sort them with Order by Revenue, and open the one you want. At the bottom, click SETUP CAMPAIGN, accept the accepted traffic and regulations, and confirm. Mobipium generates a unique tracking link. If you want one of Mobipium’s pre-landers (PreLP), pick it in this setup before the link is generated. The link looks like this:
Some links use other Mobipium domains. Copy the link exactly as generated. You’ll find it again later under My Campaigns, with its stats.
6

Create the offer in ClickFlare

In the offer form:
  1. Name the offer.
  2. Select the Mobipium affiliate network you just created.
  3. Paste the Mobipium link into Offer URL as it is.
  4. Turn on Append Click ID to Offer Url. ClickFlare adds tid={cf_click_id}, built from the template’s {tid} placeholder:
The ClickFlare New Offer form with the Mobipium affiliate network selected and tid={cf_click_id} in the Offer URLYou can also type &tid={cf_click_id} at the end of the URL yourself and leave the toggle off. Use one or the other, not both.
Write {cf_click_id} with braces. Without them Mobipium stores the literal text cf_click_id, the callback returns that text, and the conversion cannot be matched to a click.
Set the payout to Auto so ClickFlare uses the payout value from the postback.
7

Set up Pixel in Mobipium

In the Mobipium panel, open Pixel. It has three fields. Fill in the first two and leave the third empty:
Pixel is account-wide. No source shows a per-offer or per-campaign callback. The same callback URL and parameter name apply to every Mobipium campaign and Smartlink you run, so changing them affects all your live links. If Pixel already points to another tracker, replacing it moves all your Mobipium conversions to ClickFlare.
8

Add a lander (optional)

If you send traffic through a lander before the offer, the lander’s CTA must use the ClickFlare click URL, not the Mobipium link. ClickFlare then adds the click ID when it redirects to the offer. See Paths with landers and offers.
9

Save the campaign and launch

Save the campaign, copy the campaign URL from the Tracking tab and use it in your ads. Before you spend money on traffic, run the checks in Verify the setup.

The three Pixel fields

Mobipium’s postback isn’t built from a parameter name. The callback is a free-form URL, and the parameter-name field only tells Mobipium which incoming parameter to capture. You need both.
  • Callback URL. You write the whole URL and put Mobipium placeholders where you want values. Mobipium replaces them on every conversion. All placeholders are optional, and you name the parameters around them yourself. For ClickFlare, use the URL the affiliate network generated.
  • Tracker parameter name(s). Up to four names, separated by commas. Mobipium reads these parameters from each incoming click and returns their values as {tid}, {tid1}, {tid2} and {tid3}, in that order. With tid in the first position, {tid} returns the ClickFlare click ID. The name has to match the parameter in the offer URL exactly. It doesn’t have to match anything in the postback: the postback always uses {tid}, whatever name you enter. Mobipium doesn’t say whether names are case-sensitive, so keep it lowercase in both places.
  • Parameters to auto-append. Whatever you type here, for example visitor_id={subid}, is added to every campaign URL Mobipium generates from then on. Links generated before you saved don’t change.

Why we recommend leaving the third field empty

You could type tid={cf_click_id} into the third field, so every new Mobipium link already carries the click ID. If you do, turn Append Click ID to Offer Url off in ClickFlare. With both, tid appears twice in the offer URL. We recommend one path: leave the third field empty and use the ClickFlare toggle. It works the same for links you generated before and after changing Pixel, and you can see the full offer URL in ClickFlare.

Passing more values

If you want Mobipium to return more values, add their parameter names to the second field after tid, for example tid, src. Add &src={campaign_id} (or another ClickFlare token) to the offer URL, and return {tid1} in the callback with a ClickFlare extra parameter such as &param1={tid1}. Keep tid first so {tid} stays the click ID.

Transaction ID

By default ClickFlare keeps one conversion per click ID. If several postbacks arrive with the same click ID and no transaction ID, ClickFlare treats them as the same conversion and keeps the last one received. Mobipium documents no transaction ID placeholder. Most Mobipium offers (mVAS subscriptions, dating SOI and DOI, CPL) pay once per click, so one conversion per click is what you want, and you can leave Transaction ID empty.
One other tracker’s Mobipium template sends txid={uni}, which suggests {uni} is a unique conversion ID. Mobipium doesn’t document it, so treat it as unverified. Ask your affiliate manager whether it exists before relying on it.If you want to try it, set Transaction ID to {uni} in the affiliate network and use the new postback URL in Pixel:
The risk is small. If {uni} isn’t a real placeholder, Mobipium sends the literal text {uni} on every conversion. With one conversion per click, that changes nothing: ClickFlare still keeps one conversion per click. It would only matter if a click ever produced two conversions, because they’d share the same text and merge. Check Logs → Event Logs after the first conversion: a real ID there means it works.

Besides single offers, Mobipium has Smartlinks, where Mobipium picks the offer for each visitor. Go to Smartlinks, click SETUP SMARTLINK, name it, and Mobipium generates a tracking link. Set it up in ClickFlare like any other offer: paste the Smartlink into Offer URL, turn on Append Click ID to Offer Url, and set the payout to Auto. Because Pixel is account-wide, the same callback URL and tid parameter should apply. Mobipium doesn’t say otherwise, but confirm with a test conversion. The payout changes with the offer each visitor lands on, so Auto matters even more here.

Rev-share and recurring revenue

Mobipium offers revenue-share deals, and mVAS subscriptions can bill the user again later. Mobipium doesn’t document whether it sends postbacks for rebills or rev-share earnings, or how. It also has no status placeholder, and doesn’t document postbacks for rejected or reversed conversions.
  • Ask your affiliate manager how rev-share and rebill revenue is reported on your offers before you run them.
  • ClickFlare counts the conversions Mobipium sends. Compare it with Mobipium’s Stats before payday, and adjust in ClickFlare if the numbers differ.

Verify the setup

1

Click through the campaign

Open the ClickFlare campaign URL (with a lander, also click the CTA). When the offer loads, the first request goes to Mobipium’s link domain. Check that it has tid= followed by a real ClickFlare click ID, not the literal text {cf_click_id}.
2

Generate a test conversion

Mobipium documents no postback test tool for affiliates. Complete the offer yourself where the offer allows it, or ask your affiliate manager to fire a test conversion on your click.
3

Check the conversion in ClickFlare

The conversion should appear on the campaign with the payout from Mobipium. In Logs → Event Logs, check that click_id is a real click ID and the payout is a number. Compare with Mobipium’s Stats, which update every 15 minutes.

Troubleshooting

Work through these in order:
  • The parameter names don’t match. The second Pixel field must contain tid, the same name as in the offer URL. If they differ, {tid} comes back empty and nothing attributes. Affiliates using other trackers fixed missing conversions by making the names identical on both sides.
  • The callback URL is wrong or missing. Check the first Pixel field, and that you clicked UPDATE after each field.
  • The click ID didn’t reach Mobipium. The offer URL has no tid={cf_click_id}, or the lander CTA links straight to Mobipium instead of using the ClickFlare click URL.
  • tid appears twice. You put tid={cf_click_id} in the third Pixel field and also turned on Append Click ID to Offer Url. Use only the toggle.
See Troubleshooting S2S postbacks for the general checks.
Mobipium blocks some clicks and shows why in the Stage filter of its stats: Targeting Block, Offer Status Block, Leads CAP Block, Time Frame Block, Clicks CAP Block (many clicks without conversions) and PubID Block. Clicks that pass show as “Straight to Offer”. Check the Stage filter to see where the gap comes from.
  • A literal {tid} means Mobipium didn’t find the parameter on the click. Check the second Pixel field and the offer URL.
  • A literal cf_click_id means the offer URL in ClickFlare has the token without braces. It must be {cf_click_id}.
  • Check that the callback has payout={pay} and the offer’s payout is set to Auto in ClickFlare.
  • {pay} is most likely your commission in US dollars, as a decimal. Mobipium doesn’t document it, so check a real conversion against Mobipium’s Stats and set Payout currency to match.

FAQ

Yes. Mobipium accepts any name. If you use another one, enter it in the second Pixel field, write the parameter in the offer URL yourself (for example &trk={cf_click_id}) and leave Append Click ID to Offer Url off, since the toggle always adds tid. The callback still uses {tid}.
No. An affiliate manager can enable the Mobipium Tracker for you, but Mobipium says third-party trackers are fine. ClickFlare only needs Pixel and the offer link.
Yes. Once ClickFlare records the Mobipium conversion, it can send it to the traffic source through the traffic source’s postback or conversion API integration. Nothing changes on the Mobipium side.
